The DM 3/7 is one of the finest floor-standing loudspeaker offerings in its price range. This latest Dynaudio DM series model features two 6.7 inch (17 cm) MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) mid/bass drivers equipped with large 3 inch (75 mm) diameter aluminium voice coils and rigid, low-resonance die-cast aluminium driver baskets. In concert with a large internal cabinet volume and a very solid 1 inch (25mm) front baffle, these proprietary drivers provide the DM 3/7 with the foundation for a very powerful, dynamic bass performance.
The tweeter also features renowned Dynaudio innovations: A specially-coated 1.1 inch (28 mm) diameter textile dome, an ultra-lightweight aluminium voice coil, ferrofluid damping and a powerful magnet. With this technology, the DM 3/7 provides a detailed and clear, yet homogenous and smooth high frequency reproduction. High quality crossover components and a rigid cabinet construction add to the value of this loudspeaker.
The DM 3/7 is suited for a wide range of amplifiers as validated by its linear constant impedance, a sensitivity rating of 86 dB and 200 W minimum long-term power handling.
To facilitate the most cost effective solution, only two finishes are offered: either rosewood or black ash high-quality laminates. While making the DM 3/7 extremely robust and durable, the furniture-grade quality of the laminate provides an elegant, wood-like finish.

The DM Center combines compact size with high quality Dynaudio driver technology. In a center channel loudspeaker, undistorted, clean, clear reproduction of midrange and high frequencies is especially crucial. Therefore, the DM Center is equipped with the renowned Dynaudio coated soft-dome tweeter and two special 4.3 inch (11 cm) MSP mid/bass drivers. The DM Center is the ideal addition to a DM home theatre setup, for example with the DM 3/7 floor-standing or DM 2/7 compact loudspeakers in front, and the compact DM 2/6 model as rear speakers.
For a slightly upward-radiating sound dispersion, the DM Center includes an integrated angled metal plinth to position the speaker on a sideboard, shelf or any flat surface below the screen. The plinth is detachable in the event space is limited. A highly-rigid, low-resonance cabinet construction further enhances the advanced sound quality – regardless of placement or position. With high-quality crossover components, a linear constant impedance and 86 dB sensitivity, the DM Center can be mated to a wide range of AV receivers.

적절한 표현은 아니지만 부자는 망해도 3대는 간다는 말처럼 이 하이엔드 업체의 염가형 스피커는 염가라 해도 저가는 아니다. 또한 그에 걸맞게 다인오디오에서는 인문기라 해도 타 업체의 입문기들과는 격을 달리한다. 작년부터 꾸준히 제품수를 늘리고 있는 다인오디오의 DM 시리즈는 하이엔드 위주의 고가 스피커 라인업을 주력으로 내건 이 덴마크 업체의 하리적인 선택이 어떤 것인지를 보여주는 증거이다.
가격적으로는 합리적이라 부르기 어려운 수준으로 B&W나 JBL같은 업체의 비슷한 가격대 시리즈와 비교하면 분명 미들급 이상의 스피커다. 오히려 가격적으로 보면 10년 전 자사의 Audience 시리즈보다 더 비싼 가격대에서 만나게 된다는 점을 상기하면 이 제품의 포지셔닝과 다인오디오의 염가형에 대한 생각을 알 수 있다.
DM 2/6은 DM시리즈의 가장 막내로 새로 도입된 모델이다. 컴팩트한 사이즈로 중형 이하의 작은 공간에서 사용하기 좋은 스피커로 다용도 올라운더에 가까운 역활을 수행하는 것이 이 스피커의 테마다.
스펙은 음악 86dB 임피던스 6옴으로 고능률 사양은 아니지만 Excite 시리즈 이후 등장한 이들의 손쉬운 구동이 가능한 유닛 설계를 채택한 덕분에 구동 자체는 전혀 난해하지 않은 스피커라 할 수 있다. 이름 2/6처럼 2웨이 방식의 설계로 약 6in(실제로는 5.5in)의 유닛을 탑재했다. 트위터는 전매 특허인 소프트 돔 트위터를 사용했으며 미드베이스 역시 다인오디오 특유의 MSP 소재 콘으로 크기는 5.5in 이다. 그리고 위상 변이를 최대한 억제한 자연스러운 사운드를 구사할 수 있도록 크로스 오버 또한 1.8kHz를 중심으로 하는 단순한 1차 필터로 마무리 했다. 소형 스피커 답게 저역 확장을 위해 위상 반전형 설계를 취했고 덕분에 최저 주파수는 50Hz까지 보장된다. 전면 배플은 Excite시리즈와 유사한 단단한 소재로 별도의 배플을 만들어 유닛을 장착했고 캐비닛 또한 견고하게 제작되었다.
마감은 그냥 보면 원목이라 해도 좋을 정도로 대단히 수준이 높지만 비닐 소재이다. 즉, 컴팩트한 가격적인 합리성이 DM 2/6 설계의 특징이라고 할 수 있다.
사운드 퀄리티
이 스피커를 보고 나서 가장 먼저 떠오른 것은 오래 전에 사용했던 Audience 52에 대한 추억이다. 작지만 엄청난 음압을 견디고 상당한 수준의 다이내믹스를 소화하면서도 전혀 거칠거나 산만해지지 않는 안정된 밸런스의 사운드는 대단했다. 물론 앰프의 능력이 우수한 것도 있긴 했지만. 과연 DM 2/6도 그런 소리를 내줄 수 있을까?
일단 음색 면에서는 과거의 다인오디오 색채와 다소 다르다. 온기, 진한 유화풍 색채, 밀도감 등이 전면에 두드러졌던 예전 제품들과 달리 DM 2/6은 훨씬 쿨해졌다. 가장 큰 변화는 발음과 개방감. 구동이 쉬워진 최근 유닛들에 대한 변화 덕분인지 음의 억양이 더 경쾌하고 산뜻하며 자연스럽게 빠지는 음의 움직임을 느끼게 한다. 저역의 임팩트나 깊이감은 크기에 비해 충분한 무게감이 실려 있으며 빠른 움직임으로 다이내믹스가 살아있음을 느낄 수 있다.

말러 <교향곡 8번>의 거대한 스케일도 큰 음량으로도 무리없이 소화할 뿐만 아니라 슈베르트의 현악사중주<죽음과 소녀>같은 소편성에서도 악기별 거리 및 공간 잔향, 디테일 재현도 상당히 우수했다. 캐롤 키드의 'Sweet Chariot'같은 라이브 여성 보컬 녹음에서는 과거 모델들과 다르게 색채감은 다소 쿨하게 바뀌었지만 오픈된 개방감과 낭랑한 발음 그리고 기타 현의 찰랑거리는 울림 등은 확실히 더 세련되고 현대적으로 향상되었다.
다인오디오의 새로운 DM 시리즈는 분명 대중적이고 다용도 올라운드 기능성에 맞춘 탁월한 하이파이 스피커이다. 물론 가격적으로는 결코 저렴하지 않지만 다인오디오를 즐기기에는 합리적인 가격과 높은 가격 대비 성능으로 생애 첫 하이파이로서 그리고 본격적인 스트레오 시작에 더할 나위 없는 강력 추천 스피커라 할 수 있다.
